The valuation of the largest 50 Polish companies producing computer games increased from 7.50 billion dollars to 10 billion dollars during the year. CD Projekt remains the leader.

The leader of the list is growing much faster than all the rest because its valuation increased by 2/3 during the year, despite the unsuccessful debut of Cyberpunk 2077, which has sold 20 million copies. Already in September 2023, a significant expansion pack for the game, CP Phantom Liberty, is due to be released, on which the company has been working for 1.5 years. There are also plans for a fourth installment of The Witcher with the working name Polaris, which the company has been working on for a year. However, the company sold the most copies of Dziki Gon, 50 million, and this is its first flagship product.
Techland, second on the list, earned about 205 million dollars on last year’s debut Dying Light 2, which is slightly more than half of CD Projekt’s profit (360 million dollars). Since the company is based only on one big title, it is unlikely to catch up with the market leader.
The third in the list, Play Way, operates entirely differently than the two leaders, bringing together dozens of companies specializing in low-budget productions in the group. One of them is Frozen District, whose blockbuster is House Flipper, a home renovation and resale simulator that debuted over five years ago. The company provided the group with 225 million dollars in revenue and 16 million dollars in profit a year ago.
A fourth strong group of independent producers is also at the forefront, focusing on ambitious productions, but not as expensive and mass production as the market leaders. It is where 11 bit studios have been leading for years, and in 2024 want to enter the market with an exciting game, The Alters. It’s a game where the player has to create alternate versions of the main character to survive on an alien planet, and different life paths shape his personality. CI Games and the Bloober Team are also doing well. Known for creating horror games, this last studio still awaits spectacular success. Ten Square Games is the worst performer in the top ten, whose valuation fell by half during the year.
