Grydsen Lab from Poland received gold medal for innovative psychological therapy for older adults using VR technology. They received the award at the 121st Invention Fair Concours Lépine Int. 2022 in Paris.
During psychological therapy for older adults the tool stimulates the elderly in the cognitive and motor areas. It slows down the progress of dementia, such as Alzheimer’s.
The level of innovation on a global scale results from the combination of stimulating exercises with elements of VR. In addition to cognitive functions also motor functions. The project is to contribute to improving the quality of life of people 60+. It is thanks to the activity undertaken and its impact on the overall efficiency of functioning.
A software is already offered for sale in Poland. The French, English, and German versions are planned to be available by the end of September 2022.
The awarded team was composed of 7 people. Among others: Marta Podhorecka, Karolina Juszczyk, Elżbieta Izdebska, Anna Pyszora, Mgdalena Liberacka-Dwojak, Radosław Perkowski and Michał Majcherek. However, it would not have been created if it were not for the talented IT team at the Lodz University of Technology, led by prof. Adam Wojciechowski.
