IS-Wireless is a provider of 4G and 5G mobile networks. It offers standard-compliant software and hardware necessary to build RAN (Radio Access Network) and Core networks. The company promotes the construction of the network in the open model – Open RAN. As the only one from Poland, it has participated in 5G research under EU research programs since 2012. At the same time, it cooperates with many leading domestic and foreign research institutions.
Today, in the construction of new generation networks (5G), the closed models are being abandoned. Instead of the primary role of one supplier providing complete network infrastructure, we have open models – Open RAN. This solution is based on multiple vendors that offer individual cooperating elements of the 5G telecommunications network. The openness of interfaces and the possibility of using specific modules enable achieving a much higher level of cybersecurity than closed systems. The customer does not depend on a single supplier in the open model network, which may be particularly important for national security.
The solution offered by IS-Wireless allows you to build telecommunications networks in the Open RAN model, which is a cheaper and more flexible approach than those used so far. It is the only company in this part of Europe that provides telecommunications networks to clients from all over the world. They are both telecommunications operators and companies wishing to implement a private network, e.g., a factory. The company’s offer also includes a specialized solution for uniformed services.
The company’s strength is a team of over 50 high-class specialists in RAN, Core, virtualization, and software engineering. It consists of veterans of mobile network construction in Poland and pioneering research in network radio systems. The company is also a member of international groups working on standardization of networks in the open model: ORAN Alliance and TIP (Telecom Infra Project).
The first Open RAN network based on Polish IS-Wireless solutions will be launched by year-end. The company plans to take over 5% of the Open RAN market within three years.
