A Polish startup has created a tool for comprehensive podcast analysis. It allows real-time tracking recordings shared on the web, informing the user about the occurrence of the indicated keyword. The team has just raised €210,000 from SpeedUp Group, which it will use to develop the product further and commercialize the solution.
The podcast market is characterized by highly dynamic growth. Currently, 2 million podcast accounts worldwide have broadcast 48 million episodes. In 2019, 270 million people listened to them at least once a month. In 2020, it was 330 million; in 2024, it is expected to be 500 million. Hintech recognized this potential 1.5 years ago.
“Since the company was founded, we have had dozens of conversations with participants in the podcast advertising market. It emerged that the market lacks a reliable place with information about them. It applies both to their correct categorization by subject matter and to figures on the number of listens, downloads, reviews, or comments,” said Wojciech Gilewski, CEO of Hintech.
The problem of the lack of such information is mainly pointed out by marketing, PR, and research companies, including those that monitor the Internet. And all this hinders the possibility of undertaking cooperation with podcasters. Similar data deficiencies are also brought to their attention by themselves. It is because they often do not know who their listeners are and how large their audience is.”
What’s on offer
Hintech is currently focusing on English-speaking markets, where it offers two products. The first is the platform above for ongoing analysis of episodes shared online. It notifies the users when key phrases they have indicated occur in the podcasts. It also offers a keyword search engine to find published episodes that contain the suggested words.
“Our technology allows us to continuously acquire and analyze data from streaming platforms. Such as Spotify or Google Podcast, hosting platforms, and directly from podcasters’ accounts. Using the Hintech PR platform offered in a SaaS model, the user receives a lot of useful information. Such as the topics of the recordings, the reach of the podcasts in question, the brands the creators work with, or their contact information. Our second product, a search engine, resembles Google in the way it works. All you have to do is type in a keyword, and you will receive links to episodes containing the indicated phrase,” says Radoslaw Baczynski, CTO of Hintech. Previously, he was associated with the Polish startup DocPlanner for nearly eight years.
According to the investor
“The company is analyzing and collecting podcast data for optimization and ad positioning purposes. Although this market has existed for 17 years, it is only recently that its marketing potential has seen significant growth. Its value is estimated at $14.25 billion, but it is expected to grow to $95 billion by 2028. Its rapid growth is becoming an attractive platform for advertising agencies to do business,” justifies SpeedUp Bridge Alpha’s investment.
Future plans
Hintech plans to use the acquired capital to expand the platform’s functionality with the ability to aggregate additional data. Such as audience demographics, information on previously executed marketing campaigns by creators, and an expanded version of the search engine.
