The company’s valuation in 2023 exceeded $25 million. The managing nurseries and kindergartens application company has a 25% share of the Polish marke. Nevertheless, it wants to increase it to 60% by 2025. It operates 3,500 establishments, 200 connected during this year’s vacations alone. Revenues this year reached $4 million, of which 30% came from Spain and Mexico. The company is also approaching one billion zlotys in payments the system processes annually.
The application makes it easier for facility directors to communicate with parents, billing, and managing communications. From controlling children’s attendance through generating bills, logs, and reports to ordering meals. It also handles payments, staff management, enrollment, child cards, virtual corkboards, and photo galleries. On the other hand, parents have access to an easy-to-use mobile app. It collects all information about their children’s preschool education and care in one place. It allows them to quickly pay tuition, report absences, report on food preferences and allergies, or observe their children’s activities throughout the day.
The app, created in 2017, was the first solution in this product category in Poland. The company’s founder, Jakub Pawelski, was just 19 years old. Today, the company employs 70 people who speak 3 languages, some working remotely. It has also made 3 acquisitions. The Polish-Canadian Baby Manager (a mobile baby diary). Przedszkolowo.pl (the largest database of kindergartens in Poland). And Dinantia, its largest competitor in the Spanish market. At its acquisition in 2022, the latter employed 10 people, generated several million euro in revenue, and operated 60 schools and kindergartens in Spain. Now LiveKid will operate in Spain under its logo.
Future plans
After its success in Spain, LiveKid also wants to repeat it in other countries. Shortly, build around it an entire ecosystem of solutions to make life easier for parents, children, and teachers. The company’s owner also dreams of creating a private equity fund. It will invest in software companies, but that’s in the distant future.
In 2022, the company raised $3.5 million from investment fund Inovo to help accelerate international expansion in Europe and Latin America. It is only the second external financing after the $2.25 million raised in 2021. Previously, the company grew only by reinvesting revenues.
The Inovo funding will enable the managing nurseries and kindergartens application company to open an office in Mexico in 2024. It plans to hire 20 employees. They will join the 70-person team working from offices in Spain and Poland. In turn, in Krakow, the company plans to hire 10 people for the engineering team, primarily developers familiar with Java. The platform is currently available in the 6 languages. There are: Polish, English, German, Spanish, Catalan and Ukrainian. Portuguese has recently been added, as the company plans to expand in Portugal and Brazil.
